Background: My feet were never the same after my homeless adventure found me on death's doorstep. During my lengthy recovery, my feet were swelled and numb for over two months. Unknown to myself, or the medical professionals, as the swelling subsided the tendons in my toes contracted, the cartilage in the joints dissipated causing the bones to fuse. I now have 'hammer toes' in the six middle digits on each foot and require prescription orthotics under my damaged feet to be able to stand and walk functionally. Aside from the constant pain, I can no longer run, jump, weightlift squat, or any other explosive movements with my feet.



Situation: Having such deformed feet, I found it difficult to purchase footwear 'off the shelf' and explored having high quality custom made boots to accommodate my unique feet. It was a total debacle and I probably ended up doing more damage to my feet as a result of my intense desire to wear high quality boots.



Solution: I commenced my search for accommodating footwear with the idea that I would probably require 'diabetic' footwear for my feet. The last time I looked into 'diabetic' footwear the choice was between a brown or black leather velcro-closure 'sneaker' type shoe that was more for comfort around the house than ruggedness for outdoor exploration. Then I came across ICS Shoes and my expectations were completely annihilated. They offered rugged hiking/work footwear in a variety of styles in extra-extra wide sizes and greater depth to accommodate orthotics. Needless to say, this is EXACTLY what I was searching for.



With the above in mind I wholeheartedly endorse the product:

It is stylish, rugged, comfortable and adequately accommodates my prescription orthotics. Unfortunately, I needed to size up to a 6E width so I only wore these boots for a short time until I could order and receive a 6E width in another style since these were only offered up to 5E width. I would have ordered these if they were offered in 6E width.



I cannot adequately express my gratitude to ICS Customer Support for all their help in assisting me with the proper footwear for my needs. I originally ordered two pairs of these in 5E width. I was only sent one pair which ended up being a blessing in disguise. I emailed Customer Support explaining the situation and if it were possible to cancel my second pair and order another style in a 6E width. The different style was eleven dollars more and requested they charge my card on file to make up the difference. Not only did Customer Service comply with my request but did not charge me the eleven dollars because it was their mistake for not sending me the two pair I originally ordered. INCREDIBLE!



Needless to say, as long as I can find accommodating foot ware from their inventory, they have a customer for life. I cannot ENTHUSIASTICALLY recommend ICS Shoes enough to those of us with unique foot ware requirements.

I will return to this company whenever I need this product. They are kind, helpful, professional and responsive. I have been taken aback by their impeccable service and it made me wonder why I couldn’t get a tenth of a percent of the same customer service at other places. The product was perfect and we had been looking for awhile. My husbands feet are very edematous as well as poor circulation and the shoes were outstanding. Bravo to this company.

After 5 unsuccessful pairs of shoes from different companies for my father with Hammer Toes your company came through with flying colors, the 9e is wide enough to not cramp and push on his toes to help save from pain. Thank you.

I'm 73 years old with polio in one leg and hip since I was a baby. For most of my early life I had to go bare footed; my family didn't have the money to buy me special shoes until I started school. To extend their usage I could only wear them for school and church.



As I grew older I had to wear a "one size" shoe. That was virtually torture since my one foot was size 12 2wide, and the other 10 1/2 6E. Compound the fact I have only one leg muscle on the affected leg, which is 3/4" shorter.



I suffered through with this inconvenience until I got a job making enough money I could by 2 pairs of the same shoes - one pair for my normal foot, and another that still could not make me feel much difference since I could only afford shoes found in magazines or the internet.



Even at the 6E shoes, they still did not accommodate my very high arch and short leg since the toe area of the shoes were somewhat tapered and simply scrunched my toes tightly together; and no way could I ever afford to get a custom pair of shoes made since it cost almost $3,000 for the mold, and up to $4,000 for the shoes. So, I compromised. Just recently I found ICS SHOES EXTRA WIDE, DIABETIC and ORTHODIC COMFORT SHOES on the internet to see what was offered.



I found a pair that was 'suitable' for an experiment and at a surprisingly affordable price. When the shoes arrived I was very impressed that they actually looked better than the picture. Since the unaffected foot is only 2X to 3X wide I wear a thick sock on that foot and a thin sock on the wider foot. It works out satisfactorily, but still is not comfortable after a short while.



However, the ICS shoes I received went on easily (very high arch) and the shoes laces made it very easy to comfortably adjust for my one foot. I usually wear Crocs sandals (since they don't fling off my foot when I walk) unless I need to wear other styles (presentations, awards, weddings, funerals, etc.) My ICS shoes are so comfortable I wear them all day WITHOUT the usual pain and fatigue.



Yesterday (1-5-2022) I braved a make-or-break challenge by taking our granddaughter to the Dollywood area amusement attractions in Tennessee - all day! We left early and returned late. We walked what seemed like miles and I was hardly noticing my 'trouble' foot. The shoes feel so comfortable I left them on until everyone was ready for bed. What a fantastic difference it made; in fact, I put them on again this morning and still have them on with complete comfort.



Bottom line to this dissertation is the ICS product I have fulfilled every basic I need to walk more normally, with comfort. Thanks, ICS.

I couldn't find my favorite shoes anywhere in retail or online until I found ICS. Great support and terrific service from people who, believe it or not, actually HELP you. I wear Arizona Breeze braces which enclose my entire foot (except toes) and my ankles. I have struggled for a few years getting shoes that feel and look decent. My bunions, hammer toes and corns were always an issue. Since I found ICS shoes and the wonderful lady, Josie, my whole world has changed! She has worked with me and is great. I have two pairs of shoes that work so well that my foot problems have disappeared. I have even ordered two more pairs. I actually look forward to walking without pain each day. My sincere thanks to this company and Josie; they are fantastic! I recommend highly recommend them.

I never thought I'd need to go off Amazon to find something as basic as a 6E wide orthopedic velcro shoe for my dad, but boy am I glad I did! These shoes really are phenomenal, and I want his retirement to be spent leisurely walking in them!

Y'all are the only place I can find any shoes that even come close to fitting.... I wish y'all made some 12E that look like a regular tennis shoe. I've only been able to find a couple of shoes in that size and they look like they belong in a nursing home not on this big footed cop and I'm not very picky... When you were a 14 12E or 15 12E men's shoe, especially as a female, you can not to be very picky. I'm very glad y'all are out there though because otherwise I might just have to wear the boxes other shoes came in. lol

Finally I found you folks and I’m relieved to find the shoes I ordered from you are indeed 5X wide.

Been ordering shoes online from the usuals places. Also been returning shoes online from those places. Gets expensive and frustrating. I have a very wide foot and the widths some—-most—-sellers advertise are completely misleading. Very irritating.

These shoes are not readily available in our area. These Drew shoes are about the only thing that she can walk in safely. I have a larger left foot than my right. My left foot has a higher instep and in my entire life I have NEVER been able to get a comfortable pair.

My wife saw your company and read how these were 5/16” deeper to allow for orthotics. She figured this was just what would work for me. Also, right foot is a size 12 4E and the left foot is 12 1/2 2D. She decided to get the 13 3E/4E Size.

I just received them 3 hours ago and haven’t taken them off. They fit perfect. My orthotics fit into the shoe along with my higher instep. Nothing is pinching, binding, tight or making my foot go numb! Wish you had more colors to choose from. I’d get several more pairs!! Highly recommend!!!
