I own an old pair of these "boots". They were purchased on May 20, 2009. The

leather of these is very soft. I had a vibram sole with small lugs glued on the bottom of this pair of shoes. I use only one insert. I use only sock liners.

The size is 6.5 Wide. This works for me. I purchased a new pair from ICS.

They did an excellent job helping me and sending me the new pair, which is size 6.5 X-Wide. It seems to "me" that the leather of the new pair is different. Also, the left shoe is too wide for my left foot. My right foot is wider. The sole appears the same as the first pair that I purchased. This

sole will not work for my feet that have no fatty pads. As one DR said,

"What do you expect me to do with these feet? Look at the surgeries. They are nothing but skin and bones. The toes curl. There is hammer toes. Here

I add ed this too your running orthotics. If it works fine. If it does not, it comes off easy." Anyway, I returned the new 6.5 X-Wide "boots". The service from ICS was excellent. I think that a different sole would make a big difference in B4000. Apex has a 6" boot. I tried it. Once again, the sole did not work. And this sole was not good for me to work in yard or equivalent. gave them to a teenager who liked the style. Hence, put on a different sole, and make sure that the leather is extremely soft. I thank ICS vey much.
